We have had a great start to the season with Sanskrit winning 2 events and placing 2nd in his only other start making him the Number 1 horse in the country at the time being.  Nora Yaney’s stallion Southpaw has also stepped up to the plate by winning his last preliminary – only his 3rd event ever.  We also have a nice selection of young and experienced horses for sale currently competing at all levels.

Upcoming plans are the $10,000 Eventers Challenge at Southern Cross Farm and Red Hills International on March 6-9

Please go to Joe’s Facebook and Twitter site for day to day news of all the action at Joe Meyer Eventing and don’t forget to listen to the Joe and Nate Radio show on eventingradio.horseradionetwork.com

We have had a great start to the summer season here at Joe Meyer eventing with the young horses doing well and some very nice sale prospects in for the season.  We will be having some exciting updates coming in the next few weeks about Joe’s new horses and the exciting young stallion Southpaw who will be making his eventing debut this fall after a successful start in the jumpers last year.

Southpaw Cross Country Schooling

A long overdue website update on the very busy start of 2013 for Joe and the Joe Meyer Eventing crew.  Sanskrit has had an exceptional start to the season placing 4th at his first Intermediate, then winning the Advanced at Rocking Horse on a 27 and then continuing on to a 3rd place finish in the Advanced at Red Hills.  He now will stay in fitness work and possibly do one more Intermediate run before heading to Rolex CCI****.  Fingers crossed everything continues on as well as it has for him so far this season!

Joe and Sanskrit at Red Hills

Joe has also had a great start to the season on Nora Yaneys Topliner in the jumpers at HITS.  Joe and Toppy gained top ribbons in the level 7’s and in the Brookledge Welcome.  Toppy and Joe will be contesting the Prix at Longwood South the 6th of April.

We have exciting things to come this spring at Joe Meyer Eventing so keep checking back here for the news!

Joe has had a very busy May eventing and showjumping as well as teaching clinics on the ‘off’ weekends.  The highlight of the month was a win in the RMI Prix on Nora McDonald Yaney’s Topliner and a 7th place finish on Melinda Robinson’s Quickstep at his first time at that level.  Joe has a busy summer teaching and competing coming up! You can follow Joe’s day to day antics and results on Facebook, Twitter and his blog at www.professionalriders.org .

It was another great weekend for Joe Meyer Eventing at Ocala International CCI with all 6 horses entered bringing home top prizes.  Sarah Masachie’s Violet Rain was a little superstar and won the preliminary while Sara Kozumplik’s Lough Rynn continues to move up in placings and finished 4th.  Snippy had a little fun outing in the Advanced Combined Test (actually needed a competition before he became completely feral and unruly in the yard) and put in a nice workmanlike dressage test and had a couple of rails down getting back in the rhythm of things but seemed to enjoy himself greatly (galloped around the field like madman when he got home!) and finished 5th.  Joe also showed Karin Bell and American Eagle Farms’ 2 youngsters in the four year old class with both of them having minor green moments but doing very well and getting rosettes.  Joe also competed Spencer Pevahouse’s Classic Imp in the CCI* and he completed his fourth event of the season once again finishing on his dressage score and in the top ribbons to place 8th out of 55 starters.  This is one of our class sales horses and his record is unbelievable so he should be finding a new owner who wants to win lots of prizes soon!       Joe’s student Ann O’Neal Pevahouse had an excellent first CCI* finish with a very good dressage and stellar xc performance with just a couple of unlucky rails down to finish in the top half of the class and well up amongst the Young Riders. Student Chrissy Resch also had a good first outing on her new horse sourced by us LA Albert.  They are starting to get together as a team and Chrissy will be having a lot of fun on him this season.

Karin Bell's Go Go Boots watches stablemate Archie do dressage at Ocala

There is no time to rest this week as Joe will be showing Nora McDonald Yaney’s super Grand Prix horse Topliner in Ocala this week in the Welcome Stake and the Sunday Prix at the RMI show at HITS Posttime.  Joe will also be showing Nora’s young warmblood stallion South Paw in some of the 6yr old classes which may be exciting to watch if anyone is looking for some entertainment this week!  We will keep you updated on the results…..                                                                                                     We also have quite a few clients flying in over the next few weeks looking for horses to purchase so if you have a horse for sale in the Ocala area or would like to send one to us for sale please contact Joe at 352 615 5907.           We are continuing to add some more clinics to the upcoming schedule.  Keep checking back here for updates.

Successful weekend at Ocala Horse Trials this weekend.

Very successful weekend at Ocala with Spencer Pevahouse’s Classic Imp finishing second in a large preliminary division and Julie Stagg’s Class Charmer putting in a solid preformance at Training level in his first event back at that level for several years.  Joe’s own Tulip was a superstar putting in 3 good solid phases at Training level at her very first competition ever.  Unfortunately the weekend was overshadowed by the terrible tragedy at Kesmarc.  Our thoughts are with the incredibly kind people there during this very sad time.

Snip is a superstar at Rolex Kentucky!

Snip had a fantastic run at Rolex Kentucky.  He put in an obedient and relaxed dressage test on Friday.  The tough cross country course took its toll and although the footing was quite holding from all the rain early in the week Snip jumped around handily with a few time faults.  He came through with an excellent showjumping round with just the last pole down to finish in 11th place with huge cheers from the crowd and Joe was thrilled.  At 19yrs young Snip continues to amaze everyone with his soundness, tenacity and of course his fantastic character.  Snip is now getting a well deserved rest and we will keep you updated on his future plans for the rest of the season.

First FEI event in US a success!

Intrepid and Snip competed last weekend in the Ocala International Horse Trials. Intrepid came through with a fantastic result by finishing 3rd in a strong field in the CCI**.  Owner Ann Black is delighted and it seems that Intrepid seems to be thoroughly enjoying his continuing career in America!  Snip won the advanced combined test handily and it was the perfect final prep for Rolex Kentucky.

Keep checking the website often as Joe has a fantastic selection of young and experienced horses for sale in the US. We will be posting them on the for sale page here very soon!

Snip is headed to Rolex!

I am very excited to report that Snip and I are headed to Kentucky for  the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** in April.  Snip has done many four stars but neither of us have ever competed at Kentucky so I am thrilled we are finally going to get our chance. Snip is fully recovered from his stable

injury before WEG and feels fantastic.

Kate, Snip and I will be headed to the US in the next month for a few final prep runs.  Follow our progress and results at the Rolex Kentucky website at rk3de.org Looking forward to sending you good reports from Kentucky!

End of the UK season

Joe’s back from Pau, as are Intrepid and Sanskrit who both put in great performances in their final event of the season.

Intrepid was in the ** and did a great dressage test scoring 49.7, his best dressage mark in a ** to date.  A fabulous cross country followed giving the duo no time or jump penalties, but a few unlucky fences in the show jumping meant they moved down to 18th place.  A great way to end the season.

Sanskrit took on the challenge of his first **** following a superb season- the high point being taking second place in the Open Championship at Gatcombe.  Sanskrit put in a great dressage test scoring 56.2 and then did a great cross country round.  Joe decided not to run Sanskrit in the showjumping phase as he’s had a superb season and achieved a lot.  It was a tough decision but Joe decided not to push Sanskrit and the plan is that he will come out on fighting form for 2011 with a **** cross country run under his belt.

The equine team are having a holiday but Joe’s not as he’s just jetted off to America to teach!  We will keep you posted.

At home, the arena has been finished and looks superb.  Joe teaches and schools from his base and now riders can enjoy an even better experience!  If you’d like lessons with Joe, just contact us.
